Highland Hospice was founded in 1983 by nurses Flora MacKay and Cecilia Bottomley, who saw the need for better care for those with life-shortening illnesses. Their vision led to a hospice dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered support in the Highlands.
Our care focuses on managing pain and symptoms, allowing time for reflection and calm. We also offer emotional, social, and spiritual support to patients, families, and carers. Beyond direct care, we collaborate with local communities, providing training and resources to enhance palliative care. All services are offered free of charge to those in need.
